Terms and conditions

These terms apply to everyone who uses car.directory.com.au (the "Directory"), operated by Directory.com.au Pty Ltd (ABN 68 090 816 461) ("we"). By using the site, submitting a listing or buying a plan you agree to them.

1. What the Directory is

The Directory is an information service that lists Australian car businesses. We check listings before publication and remove listings that are reported as wrong or closed, but we do not inspect, license or endorse any business. Information about a business comes from the business itself or from public sources and may change. Confirm details with the business before relying on them.

2. Free listings

You may submit a listing for a business you own or are authorised to represent. By submitting it you confirm that the details are accurate, that the business is a genuine Australian business, and that you have the right to publish the content and any logo or photos. We may edit a listing for clarity, assign categories, decline it, or remove it at any time, including where it duplicates an existing listing, is not a car business, or receives complaints we cannot resolve. Listings are published at our discretion and the free service may be changed or withdrawn.

3. Claims and corrections

You can claim a listing for a business you represent. We may ask for evidence before handing over control. We may update or remove a listing when we are told it is wrong, and we check with the business where contact details are involved.

4. Featured and Marketing plans

Paid plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars, GST inclusive, by card through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the manage link in your receipt; the plan then runs to the end of the period already paid for and is not refunded for the unused part, except where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise. If a payment fails and is not resolved, the listing returns to the free plan. "Featured" placement is labelled as such on the site. We do not guarantee any level of traffic, enquiries or sales.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the site to send spam, harvest contact details, submit false or misleading listings, impersonate another business, or interfere with the site's operation. We may block access and remove content that breaches these terms.

6. Enquiries

Enquiries sent through the site are forwarded to the business concerned. We are not a party to any dealing between you and a listed business and are not responsible for their response, work or conduct.

7. Content and copyright

The site's design, text and code belong to us or our licensors. Business names, logos and descriptions belong to the businesses that supplied them. You may link to any page on the site. You may not copy the Directory's listings in bulk.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content, including dealings with any listed business. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. We may update them; the date at the top of the page is the date of the current version. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
